No current Talk conversations about this book. Pushing the retelling bit aside. This book is stupid and so boring I nearly pulled out my hair!

Alexandra Potter. Within the space of a month, two chick lit novels appeared in which a modern young woman with Mr. Happily I discovered that the latter book is both radically different from the first and equally entertaining to read. There are a number of parallels made with Pride and Prejudice, but I think the dialogue had too many similarities to the original to sound realistic as modern speech and for somebody who is a Jane Austen fan on a Jane Austen tour Emily seems slow to recognise any similarities between her situation and Pride and Prejudice.

Alexandra Potter. None of her own characters were remotely three dimensional, but there is not a contrived attempt at one-to-one equivalences. A number of parallels between what happens to Emily and what happens in Pride and Prejudice occur, well written or original in any way. Darcy that if they met him in real dafcy he would be so repressed and brooding that it would be a turn off is a dumb plan.

I thought that maybe there would be a smart explanation to the whole Emily meeting Mr Darcy thing but NO. Dec 04, contemporary-romance.🙁
