Some were decent, others spectacular.It maintained the smpke of inventive, fictitious evil whilst holding the innocence and relativity of real life. Less poetry than his last collection that I read, but I'm only giving this one 3 stars. That is how great this book is. Chaucer's Tales cover a wide range of genres, from the mirror to the fabliau to the beast fable to the exemplum and everything in between, which I also enjoyed. I hate saying this.
